WCU Online Gaming Club 2008.2 LAN Recap

A few a weeks ago, the Western Carolina University Online Gaming Club in Cullowhee, North Carolina held their second LAN of the semester. An astounding total of 94 gamers showed up to partake in the fun. At the LAN held in the Hinds University Center, many games were played including, but not limited to Call of Duty 4, Counter-Strike Source, Halo 3 and even Wii Bowling. The Carolina Core was proud to support this event by sending over some tee-shirts and hats that were given away to the dedicated gamers. The Core also contacted Creative and they graciously donated an Official Sound Card of the CGS, the Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty Professional Series to the event.

Since school will be out for the summer soon, this was their last LAN of the year. Their next scheduled LAN is on September 27th and the Core is going to try and join in on the fun. This Online Gaming Club is one of the top campus clubs in the country. Through their hard work and continued support from Western Carolina University, the club holds multiple LANs per year and also hosts numerous public servers in CS 1.6, CS:S, CoD4 and TF2 for the students of the University to enjoy.
