Renji's Daily Predictions: FIFA Training Camp Week 4
Written by David "Renji^" Strausser, Feature Writer of the Carolina Core
We move now to FIFA for the second series of events in the CGS Training Camp Week 4. Originally I had decided to change the manner of my predictions to use a +1, +2 etc manner due to the inconsistency of the game, but I decided that wouldn't be true predicting, and decided to stick with my original means of predictions. So with out further rambling, here are my thoughts on tonight's match-ups.
*** These predictions are assuming each franchise will play their starting line-up, which is likely not the case ***
Carolina Core vs New York 3D
FIFA '08
Carolina Core's replacement draft pick has been off to a questionable start so far this season, with an 0 - 3 record. Carolina Core General Manager Mark Dolven, has been quoted in saying "Another week and another loss for Anomaly, but like Offeat, I’m not worried at all.", in response to Anomaly's Week 2 loss against CompLexity's KreeganBG. Dolven still has the utmost faith in his team, and stands his ground in respect to his Season 2 draft picks.
Last season's FIFA all-star Matt "WiZaKoR" Wood, was also defeated last week in an upsetting 0 - 3 loss against Dallas Venom's Season 2 draft pick Barmoa. 3D's GM Dave "Moto" Geffon, also remains faithful to his pick in stating "I listened on vent during the match and spoke with Wizakor afterwards and we came to the consensus that losses like that are going to happen because the ball can't go your way every time."
This match should prove to be very interesting, not only because of the amount of talent going into the match-up, but also the unwaivering dedication to their players by the General Managers.
Los Angeles Complexity vs Dallas Venom
FIFA '08
That match should also prove to be a very close one, and I wouldn't be surprised if it ended in a shootout. We have CompLexity's KreeganBG, who is currently undefeated thus far in the Training Camp, going up against Vemom's Barmoa, who is sitting at a very respectable 2 - 1 record. Both of these players are extremely talented, and have certainly earned their spots on their respective rosters.
Predicting this match is going to be nothing less than difficult, simply because of the previous scoring ratios by these two players, but in the end, I'm going to have to go with Barmoa over Kreegan.
Chicago Chimera vs San Francisco Optx
FIFA '08
I must say, I've been a little disappointed with Stermy's performance thus far. My expectations for this scoring were much higher than the actual results. Yes, I understand in the beginning he was experiencing lag issues, and that's certainly something I will keep in mind, but in the end, I expected more from him.
Eafra on the other hand has really stepped up and has played a solid game thus far. Although he has only participated in 2 out of the 3 matches so far, he has been able to accomplish some nice victories, including this 2 - 0 win over Venom's Barmoa.
Although Optx's run has been almost flawless thus far, I am going to have to place Chimera's Eafra on top tonight.
