Renji's Daily Predictions: FIFA Training Camp Week 3

Posted by: Renji^

Written by David "Renji^" Strausser, Feature Writer of the Carolina Core

We've moved on past Dead or Alive 4 for week 3 of the Training Camp, with some pretty interesting results to say the least. We turn our attention now to FIFA '08, where the combination of raging fans and red cards always makes for an exciting turn of events.

*** These predictions are assuming each franchise will play their starting line-up, which is likely not the case ***

Carolina Core vs Chicago Chimera

FIFA '08

Much like last night's DOA:4 Male Division, both teams in this match-up will be going into tonights event with a loss from last week's training camp under their belts. For Chicago Chimera, Michael "michs09" LaBelle played for Eafra, suffering a 0-1 defeat to 3D's Matt ""WiZaKoR" Wood. Andrew "Anomaly" Brock, of the Carolina Core, also suffered a defeat at the hands of Kreegan last week, losing the match 0-2.

Anomaly's team of choice, England, was a bit interesting to see, because it was not a pick we expected him to make. Brazil's attacks were just too fast for the sluggish England defense, which in turn caused him the match. Depending on the team he picks tonight, the outcome of this match could certainly prove to be very interesting, however, should he choose to go with England again, I fear Core may be in for yet another preseason defeat.

Chicago Chimera 1 > 0 Carolina Core

Los Angeles CompLexity vs San Francisco Optx

FIFA '08

This match-up is definitely going to be one that I can't wait to see the results for. With Alessandro "stermy^" Avallone back in the United States, the lag factor in his gameplay will no longer be an issue. We will also get to see him go head to head with Felipe "KreeganBG" Stoyne of Los Angeles CompLexity, arguably one of the best FIFA '08 players out there. Both of these players have extreme talent in the FIFA world, but stermy^ is also known for his top performances for many other games, which should prove to assist him in dealing with any pressure that lies with going into this match-up. With his massively improved ping, combined with his excitement of coming back to the States, I can see stermy^ stepping up once again to seal another FIFA victory for the Optx

San Francisco Optx2 > 1 LA CompLexity

New York 3D vs Dallas Venom

FIFA '08

Tonight's Venom/3D match-up should prove to be another interesting one to say the least. We have the new face of Bardia "Barmoa" Moayedi, going up against renowned CGS veteran Matt "WiZaKoR" Wood. While Barmoa may be new to the CGS, he certainly isn't new to the winning scene. Last week, Barmoa scored 3 goals in the second half to seal the victory over Optx's taxi player "Nate," showing us that he was worthy of taking the spot of Novusaim.

Like I stated before, this match should definitely prove to have a very exciting outcome. Given his veteran status, I believe WiZaKoR has what it takes to put Barmoa on the sidelines, but it won't be an easy task. This should not only be an exciting match, but also a close one, but only time will tell.

New York 3D 3 > 2 Dallas Venom

For me, I'm going to go conservative..

Core > Chimera
Complexity > Optx
3D > Venom

I think all of the "favorites" will win this week
