Renji's Daily Predictions: DOA4 Training Camp Week 4

Posted by: MarkDolven

Written by David "Renji^" Strausser, Feature Writer of the Carolina Core

Once again, we find ourselves returning for yet another week of the CGS Training Camp. We are now on the 4th week, and what better way to start off than with Dead or Alive: 4? Last week's DOA match-ups ended in some pretty surprising results, and by keeping those in mind, I know for a fact this week will be no less interesting.

*** These predictions are assuming each franchise will play their starting line-up, which is likely not the case ***

Carolina Core vs New York 3D

Dead or Alive: 4 Male

Mr. CGS, Ryan "OffBeat Ninja" Ward, has had a "shaky" start to say the least, after losing once again last week to Chimera's BlackMamba. Last season, Offbeat was able to finish the regular season with only 1 loss under his belt, however at this point, he already has 3 going into this season. And yes, I realize that these have no actual effect on the upcoming season, or his win-loss record, but seeing Ryan lose is just something none of us are used to at this point.

3D's Chepelle has also had a rocky start, with only one win going into tonight's match-up, but regardless of that, we can certainly see a sharp improvement in his game, as well as his ability to keep his cool on the battlefield. Both players have a lot of ego riding on this match, so the end results should definately prove to be interesting to say the least.

Dead or Alive: 4 Female

Kat "Mysik" Gunn is on fire. There really isn't much else I can say. After suffering a defeat against Vanessa, she has went back to her main character, and completely shutdown the competition. Her improvement has been "spectacular" to say the least, and she's just getting started.

Coolsvilla has also seemed to really stepped up her game, and is anything but a pushover. Her performance so far in the past weeks Training Camp shows us that Moto was wise in choosing her to represent 3D once again in Season 2.

Although both players have really stepped up their game, one name comes to my mind when I think of victory, and that is none other than Mystik. This should prove to be a very exciting match.

Los Angeles Complexity vs Dallas Venom

Dead or Alive: 4 Male

Last week, NinjaCW pulled out the hose and put out the "on fire" Carl "PerfectLegend" White. PL has had an amazing Training Camp up until last week, when he was defeated by NinjaCW. CompLexity blame's the match results on lag, but Optx believes it was just a testiment to NinjaCW's talent.

Manny "Master" Rodriguez, another one of last season's favorites, was only able to beat the new and improved Chepelle by one round. The results of this match-up, as well as the the other DOA match-ups, lead me to believe at this point in the game, there is no defined #1 in the league, unlike last year. The level of skill of all the players has certainly began to level out, in both the DOA:4 Male, and Female divisions.

Dead or Alive: 4 Female

Both of the ladies going into this match-up have also had a questionable Training Camp thus far. This match-up can really only tell us one thing at this point, and that is "Who is the better at the bottom of the barrell?" No offense to either Megan or Michelle, but that stats are what I have to be looking at.

Chicago Chimera vs San Francisco Optx

Dead or Alive: 4 Male

Both of the gentlemen going into tonight's match-up have really stepped up to the plate, and knocked the competition out of the park. At this point in the game, I'd have to say that this will be the match to watch. There is definately a lot of skill clashing in this match, and the results should prove to be nothing short of close.

Dead or Alive: 4 Female

Once again, we find ourselves in the presence of Vanessa, the undefeated DOA:4 Female Region 1 superstar. This girl's talent and charisma are the definition of professional gaming. Last season, Vanessa set the standards for not only the Female gamers, but the DOA:4 Male players alike with her amazing 12-0 record.

KasumiChan on the other hand has not gotton off to such an amazing start. She suffered a big 0-5 defeat at the hands of Mystik, sending her to the backseat. If she hopes to improve her record, she is going to have to really step up her gameplay, and who better to take her to school than the amazing Vanessa?
