Mystik Shines, Offbeat Falls Again in Week 3 Training Camp

Posted by: MarkDolven

In this rivalry match, we saw both Offbeat Ninja (Ein) and Black Mamba (Helena) using their main characters on Crash Club. In the first round, the two players warmed up by exchanging juggles, but Black Mamba was able to use some wall damage to take a strong lead in life and he eventually finished Offbeat with a low jab. In the second round, Offbeat was able to use two strong combos that ended in wall damage, but started with a Back Kick to tie the game up at 1-1. Black Mamba started the third round with the same throw twice in a row which got Offbeat down to 66% health. He went into defensive mode after that and Offbeat couldn’t crack it. Mamba won the round after some nice juggles that were helped by some added floor damage. In the fourth round, the players again exchanged damage until they were both at about 10%. In the “clutch” situation for Dead or Alive 4, Mamba was able to come out superior when he threw Offbeat against the wall. Black Mamba continued this momentum into the match and easily won the fifth round, but Offbeat was able to get his second round directly thereafter. Ending any comeback thoughts instantly, Black Mamba closed the match out with another quick round win and he ultimately won the match 5-2.

Ryan "Offbeat Ninja" Ward
"Most of the rounds were fairly close, but Mamba was able to come out on top in the final moments of most of them."

Looking to not only build on her win from last week over Belle, but Mystik also came into this match looking for revenge on Kasumi Chan from the last time they played. Both players were using their main characters, Hayate and Kasumi respectively, and Mystik came roaring out the gates. In the first round, she also had a perfect round, but Kasumi was able to fight back with a High Counter Throw that did a ton of damage. Mystik won the first round when she found a hole Kasumi’s defense with low sweeps. The second and third rounds went Mystik’s way again behind some strong, high damage juggles. Gunn continued to exploit the lower body of Kasumi and it setup even more juggles. Behind this, Mystik was able to run away with the match and win by a perfect score of 5-0.

Mamba won at 5-2, when they played out all nine rounds it become 5-4.. So the CGS score is 5-2
