Eafra Wins in a Shootout in CGS Training Camp Week 3

Eafra won the cointoss and selected Italy, Anomaly followed by selecting Spain. He decided to utilize the 3-4-3 formation whereas Eafra, in a surprising move elected to use Italy's default "team formation". The game began with some timid passing around in the midfield and the eventually some chances were had. First Eafra managed to get in close but failed to hit the target, another chance followed shortly after with Anomaly's keeper Casillas making a nice save. Anomaly would place a nice ball into Eafra's box but the Italian defense would steal it right before Silva pulled the trigger on the shot. The first half ended with Eafra having the majority of the possession and chances, 0-0.

The second half began and Anomaly began to put more pressure on the tight Italy team formation. With the Italy defense pinned in their half, Anomaly sent a ball into the box that was chested by David Villa but immediately stolen. The rest of the half was fought in the midfield with neither player gaining many solid chances. The whistle blew in the 90th minute and the game remained scoreless and would head to a shootout.

Both players scored on their first shootout attempts, but then Eafra made a save with his keeper Buffon on Anomaly's Fernando Torres. Both players would convert the rest of their chances and the difference in the match ended up being the Buffon save.

"Eafra elected to use Italy's team formation which is very frustrating to play against and is very good defensively. It was a pretty boring match admittedly, and I was really disappointed that we ended up scoreless and in penalty kicks. I feel like I've played a lot better than my record indicates, so regardless I'm feeling good with another week in the books."
