DirecTV Begins Tonight With Core vs Chimera!

The time has come for the Carolina Core to return to the big stage. The EA Studios portion of the Region 1 season is now over and all of the teams will move to the television stage to play before a live studio audience as well as live on DirecTV. Fittingly, the Core will open up the TV part of the season with a rematch of last year’s World Championship match versus the Chicago Chimera. Although the Core won both of the earlier matchups this season, that doesn’t mean this isn’t going to be a showdown. The World Champion Chimera team has their back against the wall as they fight for a playoff spot this year. If they lose to Carolina tonight, they will likely be out for the season, so they’ll be playing desperate and passionately for the victory. This season seems to be all about Counter-Strike and the two teams will meet up on Tuscan. This is a third party map that the Core has not played competitively yet, so it will be interesting to see what they bring to the table. This familiar rivalry will definitely bring back memories tonight as the stage looks almost exactly like last years. This will also mark the first time that the Core’s new striker Anomaly faces off against his old team on the big stage.

The action begins right at 11:30 PM EST, the match will be live on DirecTV Channel 101.
