Core Hands 3D First Loss of Season In Big Victory

The Carolina Core finally got off their losing streak tonight when they won in a big way against the undefeated New York 3D. They handed New York their first loss of the season behind a strong overall team performance. In the first match of the night, Mystik fell to Coolsvilla by a slim 5-4 margin. The Forza race immediately followed it up and Phantom was able to win his second race in a row, but the 3D racers retained the second and third so the score was 4-3 in Core’s favor. This meant that the match was tied heading into FIFA. Wizakor scored first for New York, but Anomaly answered back with three strong goals to take a 3-1 lead. The New York striker answered back with a strong goal and then on the 80th minute, the Studio lost power. This meant that all of the equipment was shut off and the gamers were left in the dark for a long time. Eventually the CGS admins decided to call the match and move it to the Players’ Village to finish up. Anomaly and Wizakor finished the last ten virtual minutes of their match and it ended 3-2 in favor of Anomaly. The fourth game of the night was Counter-Strike Source and the Core brought their A game. The first half was an amazing display of raw aim and teamwork as the Core took a 7-2 lead on 3d on the more difficult offensive side of de_nuke. Once Carolina switched over to the defensive side, nothing changed in the match. They kept the momentum rolling and the Core ended up winning Counter-Strike 14-4. This meant that the franchise was mathematically over before Dead or Alive 4 Male started, but Offbeat Ninja still brought it home with a 5-2 victory of his own. The Core had finally snapped their three game losing streak with a 30-16 victory over New York.
