Core Finishes EA Studios With Win Over Chicago 31-17
The first seven games are no behind everyone and the match at EA Studios are now complete. On Monday, the teams will take the big stage in front of a live studio audience and an even bigger crowd watching live on television. The Carolina Core will be entering the second phase of the season with a winning record thanks to a victory over the Chicago Chimera last night. For the second time this year, the Core was able to defeat the World Champions convincingly. The night began with Offbeat Ninja defeating Black Mamba for the sixth time in his career. Anomaly followed the fight up with another unlucky shootout loss, his fourth of the season. He has yet to be beaten in regulation. Mystik continued her strong play in game number three when she simply dominated Kasumi Chan 5-1. This set the stage for the deciding factor in all 2008 games, Counter-Strike Source. The team played lights out and routed the Chimera 12-6. This mathematically ended the match heading into the Forza race, but the Core was able to stay focus and still win this. The final score was 31-17 in favor of Carolina and they improved to a 4-3 record on the year. This moves them into a tie for second place with San Francisco heading into television.
