Core Falls In DirecTV Opener Against Chimera

Despite a strong performance from the Dead or Alive fighters for Carolina, they fell to the Chicago Chimera 25-20. The night started off in Chicago's favor when Jason X and ch0mpr won their first race against Carolina on the year. The Core answered back when Mystik completed her sweep of Kasumi with a 5-3 win. In the final FIFA showdown in the regular season between Eafra and Anomaly, the Chimera striker won his third game out of three tries to give the Chimera a 2 point lead heading into Doa Male. Offbeat Ninja took an early 4-2 lead over Black Mamba, the the World Final MVP fought back to tie the game at 4-4. Offbeat Ninja made a comeback in the final round to take the match by a slim 5-4 margin. Heading into the final game of the night, Counter-Strike, the Chimera was up by one single point. After one half of Counter-Strike, the Core tied the game up. Unfortunately, this is where the close game ended as Stevenson took the game over for Chicago. They ended up winning the second half 7-2 and the Chimera took the overall match 25-20. With the loss, the Core fall to an even 4-4 win to loss ratio. The Chimera on the other hand improved to 3-5 and kept their slim playoff hopes alive.
