The Chicago Chimera won the coin toss and they elected to begin as the Counter-Terrorist defensive team on Nuke. In the first round, Mark Torrez opened things up for the Core with an AK47 kill and Devour added to it with an AWP kill on Stevenson. The bomb was immediately planted thereafter and the Core was able to defend it to take an early 1-0 lead. In the second round, the Chimera answered back when Stevenson caught Carolina off guard by a calculated bunnyhop push on the radio room. He was able to take down two and this helped tie the game at 1-1. In the third round, Sonny planted the bomb and Devour fragged three members of the Chimera as they tried to defuse it. This regained the lead for the Core at a 2-1, but that was the last of any of their momentum. Chicago started to lock down their defense and they managed to take five out of the last six rounds behind some strong play from their taxi fill-in, Pham. He led the team in frags with 13 in the first half and the Chimera led the game 6-3.

After losing their first two games of the Training Camp and falling in the first half to the Chimera, the Core was looking for a strong half to get back on track and get their first win. The first round looked to be a step in the right direction when a strong defense forced the Chimera to run out of time. The Core also won two out of the next three rounds when Sonny just went off. He got six frags in two rounds at one point. In the fifth round of the second half though with the Core trying to mount a comeback, Matt Stevenson decided enough was enough. He killed four members of Carolina in round five and three members in round six. Chicago basically rode the strong AK47 work of Stevenson to a 5-4 second half victory. When all was said and done, Matt killed racked up an incredible 15 frags on the difficult offensive side of Nuke. This gave the Chicago Chimera a 12-6 overall victory and the Core their third straight loss.
