Complexity Edges Core Out 11-7 in CSS Training Camp Week 2

Posted by: MarkDolven

Jason Lake chose to substitute Justin "sunman" Summy for Marcus "Zet" Sundstrom for the LA Complexity in this matchup. The Core on the other hand decided to run their full lineup. The match took place on de_tuscan.

Carolina Core Lineup

Cyrus "org" Habibi
Chad "DAFF" White
Mark "Torrez" Torrez
Sam "devour" Chamma
Hoang "s0nNy" Tran
The first half started with the Carolina as the offensive Terrorist side with Complexity taking the defensive Counter-Terrorist side on de_tuscan. Frod opened things up for LA with a AWP kill in the first round, but Carolina then went on a tear eliminating all of the LA members without another casualty. This gave the Core an early 1-0 advantage. In the second round, Org of Carolina made the fatal mistake of team-fragging devour and this just started the round off on the wrong foot. Warden and Storm each fragged two members of the Core to tie the game up at one. The third round saw the Core plant the bomb, but Warden and Sunman were able to win a 2v2 to give LA their first lead of the night. The Core answered backin the fifth round with two kills from Sonny and Masternook each to bring the score to 3-2 in favor of LA. In the sixth round, we again saw two kills from Sonny, but devour also fragged two to help the Core tie the game up at three. This is when the wheels fell off on the offensive side for the Core. Warden was able to win a 1v2 with his deagle in the seventh round and this turned all of the momentum towards Los Angeles. They used this to win the final two rounds to end up winning the first half 6-3.

LA Complexity Lineup

Danny "fRoD" Montaner
Matt "Warden" Dickens
Justin "sunman" Summy
Tyler "storm" Wood
Ronald "Rambo" Kim
After the two teams switched sides, the Core started to get on a roll. In the first three rounds, DAFF managed to get 8 frags and help the Core to an early 3-0 lead as the defensive side. In the fourth round, Sunman and Frod each got two key frags for LA and that gave them their first offensive round and regained them the lead at 7-6. The Core answered right back behind a 1v1 victory for Devour against Frod and the game was again tied at seven. At this point, something clicked for Complexity and they just started hitting their shots. Behind some aggressive attacks, they were able to take the next four rounds and subsequently win the match at 11-7. Rambo led the way in the second half for Los Angeles with nine frags, but the entire team was right behind him. DAFF from the Core had twelve frags of his own in the second half, but it was not enough to stop the strong LA pushes.

I bet fRoD was real upset for not clutching the 1v2 vs devour and DAFF. Devour had a nice shot.
